2005 CONFERENCE / EXHIBIT
December 3, 2005 9 AM – 4 PM
Gainesville, Florida
Paramount Plaza Hotel & Suites
2900 SW 13th Street
Gainesville, FL 32608

CELEBRATE and rejoice with us… we may be HIV-positive or cancer survivors, but just don’t count us out, yet. Hear what we have to say, hear what the medical community has to say as to why we are not just surviving; we are thriving. How is it that some people afflicted with life-threatening illnesses are defying the odds? Is it the doctor, the patient, the caregiver; whose role is most important? Or is it simply the fact that we are facing our own immortality a little sooner than our healthier counterparts.

This is your chance to enter our world, we will not accept your pity or your sympathy. We will allow you into our world for the day, but don’t be surprised to discover that our world is a lot rosier than yours. We don’t stress about having our hair turn grey; we are thrilled to have hair. We don’t stress about turning a year older; the option of not turning a year older is not too good.

Cherishing and relishing each moment we have on Earth is what we are about. For me, Richard, that life-defining moment is when my legs are in such pain that I just cannot continue completing a marathon. And then I realize how lucky I am to be able to feel pain; the alternate of not being able to feel is death. What is inside the sole of an HIV-positive or cancer survivor that allows him to create great works of art?

You may find just that work of art that you cannot live without on December 3rd. The first 25 artists (HIV-positive or cancer survivors only) who sign up for the conference / seminar / exhibit will be granted a 6’ X 6’ area to display their work. We are also inviting sporting good, pharmaceutical or any company that wants to rent a 6’ X 6’ area to display their products. Earlier companies that sign up will be given a more favorable rate. The conference is limited to 400 people including the 25 artists.

Runners and walkers for both the marathon and 5K fun walk should pick up their running number and T-shirt between the hours of 8AM – 6PM, Saturday, December 3rd at the conference / exhibit at the Paramount Hotel Plaza Hotel & Suites, 2900 SW 13th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608

Cost:
General Admission $25
Students $20

* Lunch and breaks will be provided for participants.
